Inadequate residential accommodation is one major factor that is inhibiting the growth of the Ghanaian Economy. Out of a total number of workers in the Public and private Sector only a third are able to own their own accommodation.
Government through its affordable Housing Policy has tried to mitigate the situation but the growing demand and the over-stretching facilities and resources are making it quite impossible for Government alone to meet the ever increasing demand.
Private Sector Investors have therefore been encouraged to enter into provision of Affordable Housing to young and upcoming working class who pay huge sums in the form of Advance to Landlords most being loans from Banks that throw their monthly budget out of gear.
The problem seem more compounded by the inability of Authorities to enforce the rent Laws. This has led to many disputes and conflicts between Tenants and Landlords. The regulatory body which is Rent Control has been helpless and is over helmed by the frequency of these disputes.
Consequently, there is the need for Private Estate Developers to assist in the provision of Two to Three Bedroom Terraced houses to young and upcoming class to enable them focus on their core business at their work places. Although steps in this direction have already been taken by other Real Estate Developers, the available facilities fall short of demand.

Dr. Manny Tuffuor is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aninwah Medical Center, an internal medical center located in Emena in the Ashanti Region and is currently domiciled in the United States of America (USA). He left Ghana at age 20 to pursue medical education and graduated as a Physician Specialist in 1983. After more than 10 years of concept development, he established Aninwah Medical Centre limited in Kumasi, Ghana a 75 bed hospital as part of his personal contribution to the transformation of healthcare in Sub-Sahara Africa Utilizing a combination of business principles and social responsibility principles.
Dr. Tuffuor started the Complete Basic Health 2000, Inc as a non-profit organization then later developed an innovative healthcare financing structure called GhanaCare that helped in the sustenance of the hospital until Government of Ghana (GoG) introduced the National health Insurance. The Ghanacare programme was so fascinating that it became part of a curriculum that was taught at Case Western Reserve University, School of Medicine at the department of International Health where Tuffour holds a position as Assistant Clinical Professor of International Health. He also holds a position as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine.
Dr. Tuffuor is currently in private practice specializing in Internal Medicine (Physician Specialist) in the city of Cleveland, Ohio where he is in affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic Health Systems. He also served as Co-Medical Director for Cuyahoga County Correctional Centre Health Services. His medical work in Africa has been featured in prominent newspapers like The New York Times and The Cleveland Palin dealer among others.
Dr. Tuffuor’s exceptional medical management skills are demonstrated by his ability to have successfully run the hospital from the USA since 1992 and have transformed it into a profitable venture.
